Use DevDocs10 in Your AI Coding Tools
AI coding assistants are only as good as the docs they read. DevDocs10 articles have tested code examples, browser support from MDN data, and links to primary sources, and you can plug them straight into the tools you already use.
MCP server (recommended)
DevDocs10 runs a free, read-only MCP server (Model Context Protocol, the standard way AI tools connect to outside data). Once it's added, your assistant can search DevDocs10 and read whole articles on its own. No account or API key needed.
Server URL: https://devdocs10.com/mcp
It gives your assistant three tools:
- search_docs: find articles by keywords, optionally within Swift, JavaScript, CSS, or HTML
- get_doc: read an article as Markdown, including tested output and browser support
- list_docs: browse the articles by topic
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http devdocs10 https://devdocs10.com/mcp
Claude (desktop app or claude.ai)
Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, name it DevDocs10, and paste
https://devdocs10.com/mcp as the URL (available on plans that support custom connectors).
Cursor
Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or .cursor/mcp.json in a project):
{
"mcpServers": {
"devdocs10": { "url": "https://devdocs10.com/mcp" }
}
}
VS Code (GitHub Copilot agent mode)
Add this to .vscode/mcp.json in your project:
{
"servers": {
"devdocs10": { "type": "http", "url": "https://devdocs10.com/mcp" }
}
}
Other tools
Any MCP client that supports the Streamable HTTP transport can connect to
https://devdocs10.com/mcp.
Try it
Once connected, ask things like:
- “Check DevDocs10 for how Swift 6 strict concurrency treats global variables, then fix this file.”
- “Use DevDocs10 to decide whether this layout should use CSS Grid or Flexbox.”
- “Look up DevDocs10's guide to migrating from CommonJS to ES modules and apply it to this package.”
Copy any article for AI
Every article has a Copy for AI button next to the author's name. It copies the whole article as clean Markdown, with its source link, ready to paste into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or any other assistant as context.
Markdown versions
Add .md to any article URL to get its Markdown version, for example
/articles/swift/swift-structs.md. The Markdown includes
tested example output, browser support tables, and primary sources where the article has them.
llms.txt
/llms.txt lists every article with a one-line summary, following the llms.txt convention for AI tools.
Why this content is safer to feed an AI
- Tested examples: code marked “✓ Tested” was actually compiled and run, and the real output is shown under it.
- Live browser support: CSS, HTML, and JavaScript articles show Baseline status and minimum browser versions from MDN's open data, refreshed at every build.
- Primary sources: pro summaries link to Swift Evolution proposals, specs, and official docs.
- Corrections: found something wrong? Use “Report an issue” at the end of any article.
